NUMBER OF FLU CASES INCREASING
LAVONIA, Ga. – The number of confirmed flu cases has increased significantly around the region and throughout the state. At Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center, 128 flu tests were run in December. Of these, 70 were positive. And more recently, the Emergency Department reported nine positive flu tests in the previous 24 hours.
As a result, Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center encourages everyone to follow the CDC’s three-step approach to fighting the flu. The most important first step is to get a flu vaccination every year. And it is not too late to get vaccinated. Even though it takes two weeks for the flu vaccine to become effective, the flu season extends into February and beyond. FULL STORY
